Who it's for
Any x402-capable buyer — an autonomous agent, a cost-tracking service, or an AI job orchestrator — that needs a normalized cost figure and a reconcilable receipt for a unit of AI work, without handing over what that work actually said. A plain EVM wallet is sufficient; there is no Inferrail account or prior relationship required.
What you send, what you get back

work_idand one or more caller-declaredevents(resource class, supplier, known cost, price basis) — payload-free: no prompt, response, or tool-call content, only cost metadata. - Output: a normalized cost analysis — known total cost, a breakdown by resource class and supplier, an unknown-cost event count, and price provenance — plus a commercial receipt (
purchase_id,invocation_id, network, amount, status) that lets you independently reconcile the purchase on-chain.

The real x402 protocol. An unpaid call returns HTTP 402 with PaymentRequirements; a signed X-PAYMENT retry is verified and settled by the CDP-hosted facilitator.
